We plan to organize the below activities/events as part of making Kanjippadom, sports tourism village (Tentative Plan)

1. Village Fun Run

  • Monthly 10k and 5K run competition.
  • Every second Saturday. 10 Runs/year. Monthly winners & Overall winners
  • Different themes for every run. Eg: Colour Run, Balloon Run etc
  • Venue & route changes for every month to highlight different locations of the locality
  • Paid Accommodation for participants- Home stay, Hotels

2. Secular Walk

 Like the famous Sivalaya Ottam, the ritual marathon undertaken by the devotees to the 12 Siva shrines in the district of Kanyakumari on the day of Sivarathri, we can conduct SECULAR WALK covering the major spiritual locations of Kanjippadom and nearby locations such as Vattapayithra Temple, Chambakkulam Church, Ambalappuzha Temple, Karimadikuttan and Kakkazhom juma masjid.

3. Mud Games

Unused paddy fields can be converted to 365 day MUD GAMES avenue.

  •  Mud Football
  •  Mud Kabaddi
  •  Mud Volleyball
  •  Mud Polo

Paddy fields after harvesting can be used for KANJIPPADOM MUD GAME FESTIVAL.

4. Water Sports

 Rivers or lakes shall be used to conduct different water sports contests such as

  •  Canoeing
  •  Coracle Race
  •  BambooRaft Race
  •  Pedal Boat Race

5. Farm Games

Specially designed Farm Sports activities

  • Farm Cricket
  • Farm Golf
  • Tag Games
  • Tractor or Lawn Mower Racing

Beaches/riverbanks near to Kanjippadom can be used to conduct beach games

Street Games festival can be conducted in closed or controlled streets of Kanjippadom and nearby areas

8. Heritage Games

Preservation and promotion of various heritage games of India. GOLYMPICS, two days heritage games event with participation from different parts of world. Heritage Games Tour Package for the foreigners to experience the heritage games of India
